The basic structural parts of the connector include contacts, insulators, shells (depending on the varieties) and accessories. The following is a small series to give you a detailed introduction to the composition of connectors.
Contact element (contacts) is the core part of the connector to complete the electrical connection function. Generally, the contact pair is composed of positive contact parts and negative contact parts, and the electrical connection is completed by inserting the positive and negative contact parts.
Positive contact parts are rigid parts, and their shapes are cylindrical (circular pins), square (square pins) or flat (inserts). Positive contacts are usually made of brass and phosphor bronze.

Negative contact parts, i.e. jacks, are the key parts of contact pairs. They rely on the elastic deformation of the elastic structure when inserting the pins to form a close contact between the elastic force and the positive contact parts to complete the connection. There are many kinds of jacks, such as cylindrical (slotted, contracted), tuning fork, cantilever beam (longitudinal slotted), folded (longitudinal slotted, 9-shaped), box (square jack) and hyperbolic linear spring jack.

Insulator: An insulator, also known as a base or insert, is used to arrange the contacts in the desired positions and spacing and to ensure the insulation between the contacts and between the contacts and the housing. Good insulation resistance, voltage resistance and machinability are the basic requirements for selecting insulation materials to be processed into insulators.
The housing, also known as the shell, is the housing of the connector, which provides mechanical protection for the built-in insulation mounting plate and pins, and provides alignment when the plug and socket are plugged in, thereby fixing the connector to the device.
Annexes are attached to structural annexes and installation attachments. Structure accessories such as ring, positioning key, positioning pin, guide pin, connecting ring, cable clamp, sealing ring, gasket, etc. Attachments such as screws, nuts, screws, coils and so on. Most accessories have standard parts and general parts.
The above is the introduction of connectors. Connectors allow greater flexibility in designing and integrating new products and in building systems with components.
